Peter Sagan freewheels to San Luis.
With much fanfare the seven-day Tour de San Luis begins tomorrow with a star-studded field: Nibali, Contador, Rodriquez, Van den Broeck, Cavendish, Sagan and Hushovd. That's the God of Thunder making a comeback from a year of illness. He is looking for redemption and will help the promising Tejay van Garderen for the win. But, meanwhile, I'm excited that he is back and due for some training and experience. He may of lost an edge but I'm sure he will ...get that mojo back.
Shift over to Adelaide, today was the 51km criterium to open a week of the Tour Down Under won by the impressive Andre Greipel. The story, in my opinion, goes to 41-year old Jens Voigt. In his last season of racing, the popular Jensie decided to attack after the first lap to open the race, his way...
"First race, first attack. It crossed my mind this morning. I may as well do something stupid and get it going.
I'm am just an old German diesel. The self-belief began to rise. We were getting close to lapping them... ha- ha, no, we really had no chance to win. But it was fun."
Now, that's a great start to the season!
Jens... doing it his way!
