Inside the Argyle Armada
I'm currently reading the very interesting book, Argyle Armada by Mark Johnson.
And I won't say too much here as Guy and I will be back for Stage 7 3b's podcast this Tuesday with plenty of cycling news. Of course, It's hard not to talk a little something of the book.
A very insightful business-like account of the unique Colorado-based cycling team and their many ups and downs and subsequent rise to the top of the complex cycling professional world. Not only do they foster great care with their stance against doping, they maneuver gingerly through the land mine of the current doping landscape. Call it the good ship Argyle.
The logistics are staggering.
Having to manage 31 riders and an army of staff (Sport Directors, Masseurs, Mechanics etc) currently in 4 races; 3 in Europe and the USA Pro Challenge.
I'm always impressed how efficient this cycling business keeps on rolling!
Keeping the Garmin wheels...rolling!
