We Were Young & Carefree

Sharing a laugh in 1988.

Christmas is coming very soon, and may I suggest one of my favorite books for gift giving or better yet for yourself!

Laurent Fignon was an Eighties cycling icon with an amazing palmares. The Professeur was well known for both of his Tour de France victories (1983,1984). Unfortunately, his near win in 1989 stands as his most famous lost.

When he retired he was reminded of his 1989 exploit and he cleverly countered...

'Ah, I remember you: you're the guy who lost the Tour de France by eight seconds!'

'No monsieur, I'm the guy who won it twice.'
